Tian Xu, Ph.D. is the CNH Long Professor of Genetics and Neuroscience, and the vice chairman of Genetics at Yale University. He is an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the director of the Mouse Functional Genome Project, and adjunct professor and director of the Fudan-Yale Biomedical Research Center at Fudan University. His lab develops new genetic approaches in Drosophila and mouse to decipher the molecular mechanisms of development and cancer. He serves on the editorial boards of Cell, Annual Review of Genetics, and Disease Models and Mechanisms. He is as an inventors of more than 20 international patents, and has co-founded 4 biotech companies.
